The Arena™ History
What is the inspiration behind the design of the arena ™?
The Arena ™, a proprietary space at the heart of The Score of Cool Springs and the location of our major video game tournaments, was designed by Chris Riley of Manuel Zeitlin Architects. The architecture was inspired by NeMo (“New Metropolis”), built in 1997 in the heart of Amsterdam and home to the largest science museum in the Netherlands. NeMo is the work of Renzo Piano, a renowned and award-winning Italian architect, and his Building Workshop group.
NeMo’s design resembles a ship, the “deck” of which turns into an outdoor terrace during the summers, providing an excellent view of the surrounding city. For more information on NeMo, visit the museum’s website at www.e-nemo.nl.
