Requirement to participate: Pass to ScoreCon 2, Nashville’s own video gaming convention, held at Rocketown on May 19, 2012.
As always, maps will not be announced until the time of the tournament. We do this to ensure competitive fairness.
No outside controllers or equipment of any kind will be permitted, with the exception of headsets, which may be used. The Score’s merchandise area at ScoreCon 2 will have a variety of headsets available for sale, or participants may bring their own, as long as it has not been modded in any way from its original manufacturing. The Score will provide controllers and all other necessary equipment for the tournament.
Teams of two will compete head-to-head in a single-elimination match, with the winning team advancing to the next round. A maximum of 32 teams will be accepted, for a total of 31 potential rounds to determine a champion. In the event there are not enough teams to completely fill the bracket, teams selected randomly will receive byes.
Default settings will be used. Time limit of 15 minutes and a kill limit of 25 will be used throughout the tournament.
In the event of system malfunction during a match, the tournament official on site will decide whether to replay the match in its entirety or award the win to one of the participating teams, based on score at time of malfunction. This decision, once made, is final.
Unsportsmanlike conduct, including glitching, cheating, and bad language, will result in disqualification and expulsion from ScoreCon 2 without refund. Participants damaging Score equipment by actions not normally associated with gameplay will be expected to compensate The Score in full for replacement.
Prizes: $250 Score Gift Card + Score T-Shirts (1st Place team); $100 Score Gift Card + Score T-Shirts (2nd Place team); $50 Score Gift Card + Score T-Shirts (3rd Place team). Promotional items received from publishers will be awarded to randomly selected participated teams. Score Gift Cards are good for any product or service sold at The Score of Cool Springs, do not expire, and must be redeemed in-store.
